We also supply trees, shrubs and protective tubes/stakes for forestry situations. Tree planting is undertaken on behalf of local estates, landowners and private clients. We also have vast experience of tree establishment on golf courses throughout the north of England.
The Dormouse Highway Project
For the Yorkshire Dales National Park
In 2019 we were proud to work alongside the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority on a Dormouse conservation project. We spent three weeks planting 4,600 trees at Hollins Farm in mid-Wensleydale, creating 750 metres of new hedgerow, all in aid of the hazel dormouse. Dormice had become locally extinct in Yorkshire, but were reintroduced in 2008 and 2016 into two small areas of woodland in Wensleydale. The new hedgerows were designed to act as wildlife corridors, linking those woodlands and giving the dormice a navigable route through the landscape. The project was funded by the People's Trust for Endangered Species and the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. It's exactly the kind of work we feel privileged to be part of looking after the trees, and everything that lives in them
